RentAlite announces a new product: The Premium Power LED Streetlight Unit.

The premium Power LED Streetlight unit has been developed by the R&D department of RentAlite and generates an exceptional high volume of light, the perfect light spread and is indistinguishable from the conventional street lighting. This special developed LED lighting unit for existing streetlights fits into the existing cone shaped fixtures which enables a one on one replacement.

Consumption:

The premium Power LED Streetlight Unit is available in two types, the 12W and the 18W unit. The PPL Streetlight unit 12W replaced the conventional 24W lamp (which consumes over 26W including the ballast) and the 18W PPL unit replaced the 36W lamp (which consumes around 40W including the ballast).

Based on 10.000 Streetlights the savings are on average € 240.000 and 500.000KG CO2 per year.

Specifications:

The Premium Power LED Streetlight units have High power CREE LEDs inside and a lumen output of 1000 (1500 with the 18W version). The lifespan of the lamps is 80.000 hours and a lumen drop of <20% after the 80.000 hours.

The first projects are being installed in The Netherlands.

RentAlite made it possible to save even more than the average 65% on light energy and CO2 with the dimming systems specially made for the Premium Power LED. Next to the standard dimming system (every Premium Power LED  adjustable in 4 levels) RentAlite developed 3 other dimming options.

The dimming system for Rentalite’s LED lighting is available for both products specially designed for parking garages. First, the Premium Power LED is dimmable from 30-25-20-15W. Second, the Premium Power LED plus, which is designed for one on one replacement of heavy duty fixtures such as Metal Halide and High Pressure Sodium, is dimmable in the following steps 60-50-40-30W.

Three different dimming options:
The Basic PPL has a build-in dipswitch that allows dimming in four different levels: 30W, 25W, 20W 15W. This basic Premium Power LED can also be switched on/off in groups by a movement sensor.

The second dimming option is “intelligent group dimming”. In this option the Premium Power LED lighting is dimmable (e.g. from 100% to 30%) in groups by a Canbus movement sensor. 

The third dimming option is individual dimming. With individual dimming, all Premium Power LEDs are individually intelligent dimmable by a built-in movement sensor in each PPL.

Rentalite introduces the Premium Power LED Lines

The Premium Power LED Lines have a robust long lasting aluminum fixture and power LED light in one, the same as the Premium Power LED, but now connectable in long lines.

The Premium Power LED Line which is developed by RentAlite’s R&D department is ideal for airport terminals, bus- and metro stations, parking garages etc. The Premium Power LED Lines save on average 65%-85% on energy and CO2 emissions in comparison to fluorescent T8 lighting.

The robust fixture and led light in one generates lots of light, has a high lumen volume and a 160 degree beam angle. The lifetime of the CREE LEDs is up to 80.000 hours (9 years), lumen drop 20% at 80.000 hours, and the fixture holds for decades. After this period the LED strip can easily be replaced by a new LED strip, with the newest technology.

The first Premium Power LED Lines are now installed in The Bank parking garage, Park King Amsterdam, The Netherlands (please see picture below).

InterParking fills first Parking garage with the RentAlite Premium Power LED

InterParking has replaced all of its conventional T8 Fixtures with RentAlite’s new Premium Power LED fixtures in parking garage Bios in Groningen The Netherlands. A cooperation between InterParking and RentAlite realized the mutual goal of saving more than 50% on energy and CO2.

RentAlite has supplied its Premium Power LED to InterParking, the Premium Power LED fixture only uses 30W instead of the 68W which the old T8 fixtures were using at minimum. In Addition the new Premium Power LED fixtures are creating a similar and sometimes even better light display in the Bios parking garage because of the wide spread beam angle of the Premium Power LED of 160 degree.

RentAlite announces a more powerful Premium Power LED

Rentalite is happy to announce that they will add another Premium Power LED to its product line for parking garage lighting. Rentalite’s R&D department has developed a double Premium Power LED fixture which has twice the output of the original 5 foot Premium Power LED this 60 Watt.

The Premium Power LED generates a lumen output of 5,000 lumens and is specially designed for parking garages that require lots of light. An additional feature of the Premium Power LED Plus is that it is dimmable to 30 Watts.

Where the original 5 foot Premium Power LED replaces a double T8 fixture and saves more than 60%, the new PPL will be able to directly replace T12, Metal Halide, and High Pressure Sodium lights with average savings over 60%. With a similar and often better light display inside parking garages.

RentAlite’s Premium Power LED eligible for a 100% tax deduction

RentAlite’s Premium Power LED, which is specially designed for parking garages, airports and stations, can take advantage of the EPAct tax incentives. EPAct provides an immediate tax deduction from up to  $ 60 cents per square foot on the Premium Power LED lighting. In many cases the total investment plus the installation will be eligible for a 100% tax deduction.

To obtain a maximum tax deduction of 60 cents per square foot the wattage must be under 0.18 W/sq.ft. To document the lighting electricity reduction and meet the EPAct requirements, the lighting project must have a spreadsheet to demonstrate that the project meets the EPAct watts-per-square-foot thresholds and meets seven other procedural requirements.

Many parking garages still have mainstream prior generation energy inefficient metal halide and T-12 lighting. As of January 2009, metal halides are illegal to manufacture and from of July 2010 T-12 magnetic ballasts are illegal to manufacture. In addition from of 2012 nearly all T-12 lamps will become illegal to use. The Fluorescent tubes as we know them will disappear in the coming years, as will the traditional candescent lamps. These lamps contain phosphor, mercury, lead and gasses that are harmful for the environment.

The Premium Power LED from RentAlite, specially designed for parking garages, in combination with the EPAct tax deduction are resulting in compelling economic paybacks, less than two years. As a result, it is easier for facility executives to win funding for energy-efficient lighting investments.

The first city in the Netherlands, Haarlem is fitting 3 of its public parking garages with RentAlite Premium Power LED lighting. Not only is this good news for the environment, it also helps to save the city money. The total savings for Haarlem are 100.000 euro per year. The city of Haarlem does not have to invest for the Premium Power LEDs, these are supplied for free by the company RentAlite and Haarlem is paying RentAlite out of the savings generated by exchanging the old fixtures with these energy efficient Premium Power LEDs.

Now that the fixtures of the parking garages at Houtplein, Kamp and Station have been fully depreciated the opportunity arose to replace all the fixtures with new energy efficient Premium Power LED lights. RentAlite is providing these new Premium Power LED (fixtures and lamps in 1), which is specially developed for parking garages, and with its “zero investment model” that the company has created, the city of Haarlem does not have to pay anything upfront. Haarlem will pay RentAlite a fixed monthly amount which comes out of the savings Haarlem creates by installing the new Premium Power LED lights. Haarlem is the first city in the Netherlands that switches to a new Greener way to illuminate its parking garages with LED lights.
Benefits
There are many advantages of the Premium Power LEDs. It produces no chemical waste, and there is no annual replacement of fluorescent tubes anymore. Ultimately, and most obviously it is all about the energy savings. The Premium Power LEDs use less than half the energy when compared with conventional lights and its lifetime is considerably longer (over 50.000 hours). These advantages also apply to the newly installed LED lights at the emergency exit signs in the parking garages.

Municipality Groningen fills first garage with Premium Power LED

Municipality Groningen in The Netherlands will fill their first public parking garage ‘Oosterpoort garage’ with LED lighting, the Premium Power LEDs from the company RentAlite. This parking garage is exploited by the Municipality of Groningen who has assigned parking company P1 to manage the parking garage.

The Premium Power LEDs from RentAlite are specially developed for parking garages and save on average 65% on light energy and CO2. On top of the average savings of 65%, the municipality of Groningen has installed a high tech dimming system which is also made by RentAlite. RentAlite’s dimming system is specially developed for the Premium Power LEDs in the parking garage. This will create an extra saving on the light energy and the lifetime of the Premium Power LED will be significantly extended. The earn back period of the 400 Premium Power LEDs, that are going to be installed in the Oosterpoort parking garage, will take less than 2 years while the products have a lifetime of 80.000 hours.

                                                                                                                                                   

Because there is a saving of 28.000 euro each year after installing the 400 Premium Power LEDs, users can choose out of 2 options for obtaining the LED lighting: 1. The RentAlite model, which means no upfront investment and paying afterwards out of the savings or 2. The direct purchase model.

Groningen second city in The Netherlands:

After Haarlem, Groningen is the second city in The Netherlands that started using the Premium Power LEDs in public parking garages. Groningen wants to set a good example and is working hard to become a climate neutral city in 2025.
